CELEBRITY OF THE DAY: PHILIP EMEAGWALI..


Celebrity of the day is Philip Emeagwali. He is a Nigeria computer scientist and inventor who hails from the commercial city of Onitsha in Anambra state. He was voted the '35th greatest African and greatest African scientist of all time' in a survey by New African magazine. He was also rated number one in Google's top 10 of 'Fathers of the Computer'. One major milestone stone achievement of his is that he was able to discover how to reduce heavy duty computations that took one hundred and eighty (180) years or 65,536 days within one computer to only one day across 65,536 computers.
